The battery
A Sigenergy battery is a premium home energy storage system built by Sigenergy, an energy technology company founded in 2022 by the engineering team that previously led Huawei's inverter division.
The SigenStor differs from a standard battery because it combines several devices in one unit.
Most home setups need a separate inverter, a separate battery, and a separate charger. Sigenergy builds those functions into one stackable tower.
A Sigenergy battery is a premium home energy storage system built by Sigenergy, an energy technology company founded in 2022 by the engineering team that previously led Huawei's inverter division. The company runs an R&D centre in Melbourne and has shipped more than 300 MWh of storage across 40 countries. Its flagship product is the SigenStor, which many Newcastle homeowners search for as a "Sig Energy battery".
If you're pairing the battery with a different inverter or panel brand, we also install Sungrow Solar Inverters and Aiko solar panels, and can talk you through how each pairs with a SigenStor.
You should weigh one point before you buy. Sigenergy is a young brand, so its Australian track record is shorter than Tesla or LG. The hardware specs sit at the premium end, and the Melbourne R&D presence helps, but with any newer name the quality of your installer matters more than usual. That is where a local team like Sine Wave Solar earns its place.
Design
The SigenStor merges five functions into one tower: it replaces the wall of separate boxes a traditional install needs, which cuts wiring, saves space, and gives you one app to run everything.
Capacity
Sine Wave Solar fits the SigenStor in two module sizes: the BAT 6.0 at 6 kWh and the BAT 9.0 at 9 kWh. You stack up to six modules in one tower, mix the two sizes to hit the exact capacity you want, and reach a maximum of 54.24 kWh.

Capacity
Around 30% off, paid on the first 14 kWh of usable capacity. It comes off as a point-of-sale discount with no means test, and it needs an accredited installer and a VPP-capable battery.
ExampleA 10 kWh battery draws roughly $2,520 off the price through the federal program alone.
Paid for connecting your battery to an approved Virtual Power Plant.
One point on timing: the federal rebate steps down every six months, with the next reduction set for 1 January 2027, so the amount you claim today is the highest it will be. Sine Wave Solar keeps a current breakdown on our solar battery rebate page.

How it compares
A Sigenergy battery competes at the premium end against the Tesla Powerwall and similar systems, and it wins on three-phase backup, expandability, and built-in fire safety. It costs more than budget options, so the choice comes down to what your home needs.

Sine Wave Solar walks you through the trade-off honestly, because the right battery is the one that fits your house, not the one with the longest spec sheet.
